Between labor and delivery, a mom’s body changes completely. We prepare and endure the physical stress needed for growing a healthy baby for roughly 38-42 weeks. In about 12-24 hours, after labor, our bodies are expected to slingshot back to our previous self. THAT IS A LOT OF STRESSFUL CHANGES!
A healthy postpartum recovery is essential to promoting successful breastfeeding, helping your family adjust to the newest addition (whether it’s the first child or beyond), and promoting a mother’s emotional and physical well-being. During the fourth trimester (postpartum), which is unique to each mother, the hormonal system, brain, and nervous system are expected to adapt to the absence of a baby in the womb. The entire body is also healing from 9 months of pregnancy-related changes and your unique experience of birth.
The stress, or torque, placed on the body is restored ONLY by proper alignment and movement of the spine through a gentle, specific neurological adjustment.
Postpartum chiropractic adjustments aid beautifully in this process to help your body recover and resiliently allows you to be the best expression of yourself for you and your family.
