Welcome To One Family Chiropractic
Health. Happiness. Life. The three core values for which I have founded my practice on are the values I embrace everyday. As a chiropractor, my ultimate goal is to have you, your family, and the entire community living their best lives every day, by helping you learn the importance of a healthy brain and nervous system.
Webster-Certified Doctor of Chiropractic
At the age of six, I had my first allergic reaction. I went into anaphylactic shock after being exposed to an excess amount of dust in the air. After multiple similar episodes, I had to accept that this was just the start of, what I thought was going to be, a lifelong struggle with my health. I was taking 4 – 6 pills per day, constantly puffing through inhalers, and having weekly doctor’s visits, with 100s of allergy shots, for the next 15 years. Even with the time, money, and effort put towards my health, I knew I was still not in the best place.
Ever since I was a child, I knew I wanted to do something where I would be making a profound impact on other’s health and their overall quality of life. I received my first chiropractic adjustment when I was 20 years old. I began to immediately notice subtle differences, and after getting regular adjustments, the changes to my health were overwhelmingly impactful. That was when I knew that not only did I find the answer I was looking for personally, but this was what I was meant to do for the rest of my life.
I am now a Webster-Certified Doctor of Chiropractic with training in pediatrics and pregnancy from the International Chiropractic Pediatrics Association. I received my Doctorate of Chiropractic in 2018, graduating magna cum laude, with distinctions in philosophy and clinic excellence from Life University in Marietta, Georgia. Prior to Life University, I received my Bachelors Degree in Exercise Science from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. I am grateful for the opportunity to practice in Northern Virginia as I am an alumnus of local schools: McLean High School (McLean, Virginia) and Westminster School (Annandale, Virginia).
Outside of serving the Vienna and Tyson’s Corner community with the best care, I enjoy outdoor activities, dancing Bhangra (an Indian Folk Dance), going to CrossFit, listening to podcasts and music, and spending time with my family and friends.
Office & Care Coordinator
I haven’t always followed the “Healthy Lifestyle” guidelines until the past 2 years of my life. I started realizing that the definition of Holistic Health to me and my journey is not only taking care of my physical; but my mental, spiritual and social journey. All of these affect your overall physical health if not taken care of the right way. And being unwell in one area, can and will affect other areas. I learned this, the hard way.
I came across Dr. Megha and this awesome family and I knew, not only could I learn, grow and be coached about how adjustments could be life changing, but to be able to help children and parents along their journeys as well and to be able to see each client’s progressions and functions improve along the way in each case. It’s an amazing feeling to see first hand how Dr. Megha’s adjustments improve quality of life, nervous functions, digestive problems and so many more. These are the reasons I wanted to be a part of One Family Chiropractic. This team makes miracles happen daily, and I’m honored to be a part of it. In my spare time, I love spending it with my two sons. I have a passion for making Candles and body products. I enjoy a good game night with family and friends and showing my kids who’s the real MVP on the Basketball Court. I also enjoy my quiet time, where I can lounge and catch up on some good shows.
The first time I brought my teenage son who struggles with ADHD in to see Dr. Megha, One Family Chiropractic was a place I knew I wanted to be a part of. I was thrilled when I learned her practice was expanding and she needed office help! Being a part of the OFC family feels like being part of something bigger than just myself. The mission of Dr. Megha and the entire practice is one based on helping and encouraging others to live their best life.
When I’m not in the office I am out there living my best life as a mom, photographer, and artist. In my former life before being a mom, I was a photojournalist. Needless to say, my body is still lopsided from carrying heavy gear in sometimes very stressful situations. Being under Dr. Megha’s care has been healing for me in many different ways, and I am learning to let go of my body’s natural instinct to protect itself. The adjustment room has become a place, to be honest about past pain and refuge from the daily stresses.
I have a passion for travel which often conflicts with a work schedule. So, if I’m not in the office I’m likely out of town on an adventure. I generally look for any excuse to celebrate and act like a kid, which makes OFC a perfect fit for me and my family!
I found Dr. Megha while searching for a truly holistic chiropractor. I wanted a chiropractor that treated the body as intricately connected and who would locate the true root cause. I wanted care that addressed why the body was out of alignment, not just focusing on fixing the alignment. I found just that with Dr. Megha, and immediately felt like a part of the family from the very beginning!
I have a passion for healthy living, and have always enjoyed helping others on their journey to wellness by way of getting in tune with their body’s form of communication in order to reach optimal health. I was excited when I heard about an opportunity to be in the office with Dr. Megha and work alongside her as she served families with the same desire to take care of their bodies and steward their health. I love to witness parents start their kids off early in their health journey and I love seeing individuals truly care for their body on the most fundamental level. When given the right environment, our bodies can truly heal and thrive and I am so glad to be a part of a team that encourages that daily!
When I’m not at OFC, I am probably home cooking, out walking and hiking, or hanging out with my husband.
An Indian mother of 3, I used to look at my health and truly feel that I had no significant health concerns. However, my health for an almost 60 year old, fell under many issues females face AND I thought it was normal i.e. medications for my thyroid and cholesterol, constantly running around, balancing the mom, employee, wife, devotee faces, etc.
As my daughter went through Chiropractic school, she would come home and express how important it is for everyone to see a brain based chiropractor. Eventually, my husband and I decided to go see one while she was still in school. It was not a horrible experience, however, I did not feel any value from it after months of consistency. So we stopped.
Dr. Megha (I love how I can refer to my daughter as doctor) decided she was going to open up and with all my blessings and support she built One Family Chiropractic. Looking at this journey, I wanted to be in THIS family and get under her care. I also wanted to support her because I love her and would do anything for her (sound familiar moms out there)
AFTER 6 months of consistent care, all my concerning blood level reports in regards to cholesterol and blood sugar had decreased. Even my primary care physician surprisingly asked, “what have you done?”.
It was amazing to see my numbers change, but more importantly, now my entire family is under care and we are living a more fulfilled and healthy life.
I give credit to my consistency and my daughter’s passion to heal families.
My personal favorites: Outside of family fun, I enjoy Bollywood movies/songs, singing, my dedication to the congregation I serve (Sant Nirankari Mission), and playing a role to all the babies in our office!
